More than 300 professionals from 16 government entities benefit from specialised AI programmes and workshops continuing through October
Shams Continues to Equip Government Talent for the Future of Artificial Intelligence
Sharjah, United Arab Emirates – August 31, 2026: Sharjah Media City (Shams) has announced that more than 300 professionals from 16 government institutions and entities have participated in specialised programmes and workshops organised under the “Shams AI Club”, as part of its efforts to enhance digital skills and empower professionals to effectively leverage artificial intelligence applications across diverse work environments.
The programmes form part of the first phase of the initiative, which aims to train more than 500 participants through a learning experience that combines knowledge with practical application. The workshops cover a range of topics, including AI fundamentals, prompt engineering, task automation, data analysis, content creation, as well as the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies.
Shams confirmed that the training programmes and workshops will continue through the end of October, as part of an ongoing plan to expand the initiative, engage more participants and government entities, and enhance the readiness of professionals to navigate the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Majed Al Suwaidi, Director of Information Technology at Sharjah Media City (Shams), said:

Through the Shams AI Club, we continue to deliver practical programmes that help participants transform these technologies into effective tools within the workplace."

We have focused on delivering a practical and interactive experience that enables participants to explore and experiment with modern AI tools and use them to enhance productivity and drive innovation."
The “Shams AI Club” serves as a specialised platform for learning, experimentation and innovation, bringing together training programmes, practical workshops and hands-on challenges. The initiative targets government professionals, private-sector employees, entrepreneurs, media professionals, content creators and students.
Through the initiative, Shams continues to strengthen its role in supporting digital transformation and fostering a culture of innovation, while contributing to the development of future-ready talent equipped with the skills and tools needed to navigate emerging technologies. These efforts further support the growth of the digital economy and reinforce Sharjah’s position as a hub for knowledge, creativity and innovation.
