Sharjah Media City Launches the “Shams Award for the Best Ramadan Decorations” Promoting Community Creativity During the Holy Month
Sharjah, 3 February 2026:Sharjah Media City (Shams) announced the launch of the“Shams Award for the Best Ramadan Decorations”, under the gracious patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council. The initiative coincides with the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan and comes as part of Shams’ commitment to supporting community initiatives and promoting values of unity, joy, and creativity among members of society.
This award reflects Shams’ ongoing dedication to supporting creative and community-driven initiatives that embody authentic Emirati values, strengthen social cohesion, and highlight Sharjah as a city illuminated by festive lights and spiritual Ramadan atmospheres.
The competition offers participants the opportunity to showcase their home decorations by submitting photographs or short video clips. Entries will be evaluated by a specialized judging committee based on criteria including creativity, aesthetic appeal, Ramadan identity, and quality of photography.
The competition will run fromthe first day of Ramadan until the 18th of Ramadan. The first-place winner will receiveAED 70,000, second placeAED 40,000, and third placeAED 20,000, while additional prizes ofAED 10,000will be awarded to winners in the remaining categories. This initiative aims to encourage community participation and inspire creativity throughout the Holy Month.
