Hekaya – The Script is a creative initiative supported by Sharjah Media City (Shams), aimed at discovering and developing screenwriters across the Arab world and empowering them to enter the drama and film industry professionally. The project has offered specialized training programs, workshops, and professional events that connect writers with producers and directors. It has resulted in the development of more than six original series over two seasons, in addition to launching the “Idea Bank”, which includes concepts for series, films, podcasts, and documentaries.
The project is now moving into a new phase of expansion, which includes launching an English-language edition to reach writers from around the world, as well as developing a digital platform to manage scripts and facilitate communication between writers and production entities. The initiative continues to organize professional events and advanced training programs. Shams Content Award 2025 also recorded over 300 participants from various Arab countries, reflecting the project’s ongoing growth and its role in building a vibrant and integrated creative community.
